Honor Mom for a Chance to Win $500 and a Sister Schubert’s Gift Basket

With the May 6 deadline only a week away, entries are pouring in for our Mother’s Day Story Contest. The winner will receive a $500 gift card and a large, hand-painted gift basket filled with Sister Schubert’s Homemade Rolls and specialty products.

The contest honors my own mother, Charlotte Wood, who has been an inspiration and a role model all my life.

I invite you to enter by posting an essay of 750 worlds or less about what your mom means to you along with a photo to our Web site. To qualify, the story must be about your mother and must be accompanied by a photograph. Full contest rules are posted on the entry page.

I will announce the winner between 7 and 8 a.m. on Friday, May 8, on WAKA Channel 8 in Montgomery, Alabama.
