Congratulations to Kristi Shearer, June winner in Sister Schubert’s Quality Time story contest

It’s such a pleasure to read the wonderful stories submitted in our Quality Time Story Contest.

The contest encourages families to share anecdotes about events and activities that have brought them closer together.

This month’s winner reminds me of the special times that my family enjoys on our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches.  I’ll talk more about our experience when we return from our beach vacation this summer.

Making Memories to Grow On

“For the last 10 years our family has taken a vacation to the beach. There are usually twenty-five to thirty family members that participate including grandparents, aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, siblings, and a pet or two.  Every January the family comes up with a date and everyone tries their best to arrange their schedules around the trip. The children would not know their cousins well if we did not take this trip every year. We swim, play games, and have family meals together which include Sister Schubert’s wonderful breakfast items and rolls. By the end of our vacation week the kids separate in tears and look forward to seeing each other the next year. We are so glad that they will grow up with memories and bonds that will last a lifetime!”
