It’s So Hard to Pick Just One! Judging Begins for the On A Roll Contest

I cannot tell you all how much I enjoy good food! I also love finding and tasting new recipes that have such creative configurations of savory or sweet ingredients.

On June 25, the moment I‘d been waiting for finally arrived! I got to indulge myself and taste some of the wonderful recipes we received from our On A Roll Contest.

Since we kicked off the contest, we received an astounding 1,300 recipes featuring Sister Schubert’s rolls from great cooks and bakers all over the country.

The judging was held at the lovely home of a local Columbus, Ohio, professional food stylist and chef, who prepared the final three recipes from each recipe category. She prepared each recipe as they were submitted—she didn’t change a thing—for our panel to taste and then vote on.

I was joined by some of my partners at T. Marzetti Company and other Columbus professionals on the judging panel. We evaluated the recipes on taste, appearance and simplicity let me just say that choosing just one was tough!

As many of you know, the grand prize is a beautiful suite of four new Frigidaire Professional Series kitchen appliances, including a side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher, range and an over-range microwave.

The winners from each of the four categories, Breakfast/Brunch, Dinnertime Meal, Holiday & Parties, and Anytime Snack, will receive a $1,000 cash prize for the best in the category.

I hate to do this, but I am going to keep you all in suspense for just a while longer. Our grand prize and individual category winners won’t  be announced until at least mid-July. So stay tuned.
