Easter Greetings and Recipes from Sister Schubert’s Homemade Rolls
Happy Easter! This is one of my favorite holidays, when family and friends gather together to create memories of warmth and comfort that last all year round.
The smell and taste of special foods are an important part of my holiday memories. When I was growing up, no Easter dinner was complete without the yeasty aroma and buttery taste of my grandmother Gommey’s homemade yeast rolls. It’s gratifying to know that millions of families across the country now join us in enjoying the pure and simple taste of Sister Schubert’s Homemade Rolls with their holiday and everyday meals.
Nothing gets our gaggle of children and grandchildren going on Easter morning like a breakfast featuring Sister Schubert’s sweet rolls. Our wonderful Cinnamon Rolls are just like the ones Gommey used to make, with the finest cinnamon and butter. It’s been my pleasure to extend the tradition by mixing healthy blueberries with real cream cheese to create Sister Schubert’s Blueberry Rolls and to create Sister Schubert’s Orange Rolls with real orange zest, butter and orange icing.
One of the pleasures of preparing a big Easter dinner with all the trimmings is snacking on leftovers for the next few days. Sister Schubert’s Dinner Yeast Rolls and Parker House Style Yeast Rolls make the perfect base for sandwiches. I’m happy to share two of my family’s favorite recipes here, and you can find more simple yet delicious recipes on the SisterSchuberts.com Web site or in my new book, Cast Your Bread Upon the Waters.
