Sister Schubert To Present Memorable Holiday Moments Prizes on Better Mornings Atlanta

Tomorrow will be an exiting day! I’m traveling to Atlanta to present the grand prizes in the Sister Schubert’s Memorable Holiday Moments contest.

Sometime between 5 and 6 a.m., winner Heidi Britz and I will meet on the set of “Better Mornings Atlanta.” This leading morning show is produced by WGCL-TV, a CBS affiliate owned by contest co-sponsor Meredith Corporation.

On behalf of Sister Schubert’s Homemade Rolls, I will present the fabulous grand prize – a Mexican vacation for four valued at $5,000 – that Heidi won with her beautiful story about her son’s gratitude at Christmas. Heidi and I will then present a $5,000 check to Vonda Malbrough, director of development for North Fulton Community Charities, which operates Heidi’s chosen food bank. We’re also donating 12 cases of Sister Schubert’s Parker House Style Yeast Rolls to this organization, which is dedicated to preventing homelessness.

We’ll also deliver a $1,000 check from Meredith Corporation to Amy Crowel of Share Our Strength, a national organization that works to make sure no kid in America grows up hungry.

I can’t wait to meet Heidi and learn more about the woman who penned such a heartwarming story. It will also be a treat to meet two women dedicated to feeding the hungry – one of the focuses of my work with the Barnes Family Foundation.
