- Start off smart. Use the freshest, highest-quality ingredients available. Read over the recipe first and precisely measure all ingredients. (Remember, baking is more exact than cooking!)
- Avoid sticky situations. Roll dough between two pieces of wax paper to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper so finished cookies are easier to remove.
- Just chill! Cold temperatures are your friend at several points in the baking process. Save time by making your cookie dough in advance, and then freeze it until baking time. Chill dough for cut-out cookies, but allow it to return to room temperature before rolling. And always let cookies cool completely before decorating.
