FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 8, 2009
LUVERNE, Ala. – How does your mother make life special for your family? Tell your story on the sisterschuberts.com Web site, and you could win a $500 gift card and a large, hand-painted gift basket filled with Sister Schubert's Homemade Rolls and specialty products.
Company founder Patricia "Sister Schubert" Barnes created the contest in honor of her own mother, Charlotte Wood. "Growing up, my mother was always doing something to make us feel special," she said. "For example, she kept a cabinet stocked with small gifts and treats to reward us for our accomplishments and to cheer us up when we suffered a disappointment. That tradition has meant so much to me over the years, and I've continued it with my own family."
As a mother of five and grandmother of six, Ms. Barnes believes Mother's Day is one of the most important celebrations of the year. She created the contest to gather stories about how mothers create quality time for their families.
"We want to hear about what Mom does and has done for you, how she has dedicated herself to the well-being of her children and family," Ms. Barnes said. "Write about what this means to you, how it makes you feel. And don't forget to include a photo!"
To enter, contestants can upload an essay of 750 words or less along with a photo to www.sisterschuberts.com/quality-time/story.dT by the contest deadline of May 6, 2009. To qualify, the stories must be about the contestant's mother and must be accompanied by a photo. Full contest rules are posted on the Web site.
Ms. Barnes will select one winner, who will be announced on Friday, May 8. The winner will receive a $500 gift card as well as a hand-painted gift basket complete with two pans of Sister Schubert's rolls, a choice of Sister Schubert's specialty gift products, a package of Mook's Cheese Straws, two packs of Red Diamond Estate coffee and a hand-decorated, seasonal cookie.
