George's Chili
- 2 lbs. Ground Beef
- 1 ¼ cups finely chopped Onion
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons Chili Powder seasoning (George uses Mexene)
- 2 teaspoons Sea Salt (more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon ground Cumin
- 1 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 (16 oz) can Tomato Sauce
- 2 (29-ounce) cans of Diced Tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons Black Pepper
Drain excess fat from pot.
Add salt, pepper, sugar, tomato sauce and tomatoes to the pot.
Mix well, cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
Taste to correct seasonings.
Add 2 cans (15.5oz) of dark red kidney beans and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
Do not overcook the beans.
Serves: 8
Serve with Sister Schubert's Parkerhouse Rolls, brushed with garlic butter & a slice of sharp cheddar cheese in center.
